Sashaying away in the earlier stages of the competition doesn't mean career failure - many of the most famous RuPaul's Drag Race queens didn't actually win the competition. RuPaul might claim contestants need to "lipsync for your life" to avoid being voted off the competition, but eliminated queens that have made it big have proven there's plenty of life to live beyond the show when it comes to making a career after Drag Race. Many of the most successful queens were voted off way before the final, and certainly didn't win. The message is that contestants needn't necessarily be in every episode to make their mark.
